Datteltäter Academy is a fellowship program for young Muslim content creators who show promise in the creative field. The initiative highlights the work of young content creators contributing to social discourse, with a focus in Germany. In addition to providing a platform for their work, the program also prepares young creators to continue producing high quality work through targeted mentorship and a rigorous workshop series. As part of the program, fellows will produce a final project tackling a social issue of their choosing to be presented at a final screening event in Berlin.
After 5 years as the largest Muslim content YouTube channel in Germany, we decided it was time to pay it forward. And we couldn’t think of a better way than creating Datteltäter Academy, a program that would allow for the mentorship and cultivation of the next wave of young German talent. What started as an idea has turned into a full program, and we cannot wait for the future years of creative collaboration to come.
The Datteltäter Academy is a project funded by the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs Senior Citizens Women and Youth as part of the federal program “Demokratie leben!“, as well as the Berlin Senate Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs.
